Acting Lab

In a Minor Punctuations Acting Lab, performers take part in a structured, process-based workshop combining physical warm-ups, voice work, ensemble exercises, and scene exploration. Sessions typically begin with movement and breath to build focus and group awareness, followed by exercises that develop listening, timing, and responsiveness within the ensemble.

Performers work with scenes, text fragments, and devised material, experimenting with character, relationships, and spatial dynamics. Multilingual text and accent work may be included when relevant, allowing performers to explore how language shapes meaning and interaction on stage.

The lab prioritizes experimentation over performance outcomes. Feedback is shared through guided discussion and observation rather than evaluation, supporting a collaborative and supportive working environment.

New Play Workshops (for Emerging Playwrights)

Our New Play Workshops are designed specifically to support emerging playwrights through a structured, artist-centered development process. The workshops provide a supportive environment for writers to test new work, build confidence, and deepen their relationship to their own practice.

Script Intake & Orientation

Each workshop begins with a script submission and an initial conversation with the artistic team. This stage focuses on understanding where the playwright is in their process, identifying development goals, and establishing a shared language for feedback.
